Brick Reservoir: the 1.6-mile loop, hours and parking

The Brick Reservoir is the township's drinking-water reservoir on the Wall Township line, open to the public for walking and running on a 1.6-mile path around the rim. It is run by the Brick Township Municipal Utilities Authority, not the recreation department.

The path is flat and paved, with two side-bank observation stations and picnic areas along the water. It is open Tuesday through Sunday and closed on Mondays and on federal and state holidays. In winter it can close without notice in bad weather.

There are two parking lots: the main Herbertsville lot at 811 Herbertsville Road in Brick and the Wall lot at 2429 Metedeconk Road in Allenwood. From the Parkway, take exit 91 southbound or exit 90 northbound to Burnt Tavern Road, then Lanes Mill Road and Sally Ike Road to Herbertsville Road.

The reservoir reopened in June 2026 after an upgrade that closed it for a stretch; check the MUA page for any current closures before driving over.
